There are 3 primary caster classes in GW2. the Elementalist, the Mesmer, and the Necromancer. Elementalist is perhaps the most difficult of the three to play since it involves a fair amount of attunement swapping and can quite easily feel like you are trying to play a piano rather than a game… however, the class 3.8k. Some classes like Sylvari don't actually entail any specific class being the best combo though, so I think Mesmer and Thief are definitely a stretch and moreso to fulfil the criteria of the categorisation than being lore-accurate. 2) Revenant: mid HP with heavy armor, lots of mobility and resustain; maybe the stongest class at soloing PvE at the moment, the core and Herald specs are mostly mele, but the Renegade ranged game is very strong. Viable with bot power and condition stats, meta in almost every facet of the game. A bit more complex to learn, has some annoying bugs. Just enjoy buddy, every class work. Here are the list that can heal later, doesn't matter which one is best since it all can change one day of balance patch anyway, pick the one who look cool to you : - Necro => Scourge - Elementalist => Tempest - Ranger => Druid - Engineer => Mechanist/scrapper - Guardian => Firebrand - Thief => Specter Otherwise, Guardians and Warriors make good use of them, especially for pvp, or at least as a back bar weapon. Thief is probably the best at total stealth up-time and vertical mobility. Sadly it isn't all that impressive since most other classes have just as much mobility+nearly as much stealth while being more durable and/or have more dps. Feels bad man :c. WvW roaming builds are mostly self sufficient but look for combinations that complement eachother (for example one spec that provides stealth & cc and the other boons & cleanses) For pvp it's the same principle, but a roamer + sidenoder have the most carry potential. Dadnir.5038. The skin thematically fit the necromancer but necromancer's focus skill aren't that great unfortunately. I'd suggest guardian as it's focus skill are pretty strong compared to other professions. Elementalist wouldn't be a bad option but you hardly have the time to look at your focus on this profession. Classes don't affect your personal story, only your race and some choices you make during character creation and the choices you make throughout the personal story. In my personal opinion, Sylvari have the best story. It's also more intimately tied to the general overarching story for reasons that, if I told you, would spoil the story. Hey there, am relatively new to the game and have been trying out the various classes. So far, I've really enjoyed playing the mesmer and engineer classes but I've read some older posts that they may not be suitable for playing with a higher ping (I'm playing at about 250-300 ping). ive been away for awhile and was wondering what is the best for PVE/PVP survival wise not so much DPS. Easy : cleric scourge with axe/torch + staff ; Blood Magic, Death Magic, Scourge. Slot all minion, use staff 2 and shroud F3 on CD and you'll never die and kill everything, slowly, but still. Renegade condi and Mirage staff/staff condi are Raid Builds. Raid and Strike Mission builds for GW2.
